I am always learning as an editor, and believe that's part of what helps me be an effective reader and commentator. I will be sharing my notes for those interested, as well as interesting book reviews, and any other writing, editing and reading topics that may be useful.
I actively seek out helpful resources for authors and fellow editors. This area is always under construction, so check in for useful tips such as essential style guides, social media tips and resources, online education and self-editing tips.
Whether you only have a vague story idea in mind, or you're ready to submit your book to a literary agent, or for self-publication, an editor can help. Even
the best readers and writers may become blind to grammatical or spelling errors after hundreds of read-throughs. Perhaps you would like personalized feedback on your story, seeking what could be improved before the manuscript is finalized or sent out to an agent. No matter what stage of the writing and editing process you are in, I am happy to help.
After several years of crashing around in my head as an idea, Jewel House Press began in earnest in 2018. Currently, I offer editorial services at any stage of the writing process, although I hope to become a small press in the future.
I am a current marketing proofreader and former news journalist and editor. I have an eternal weakness for children’s and young adult fiction and historical fiction, my editing specialties.
My goal as an editor is to help you make YOUR story the best it can be. I look forward to hearing from you! If you have any questions, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please feel free to connect with me on Twitter; the site is a treasure trove of useful resources for writers. I’m happy chat whenever I can! Find me at @JewelHousePress.
